Cycling by the Sea - Gulf Shore Way
There is no better way to explore the stunning landscapes of PEI’s North Shore than by cycling the Gulf Shore Way. This seaside route is a recent upgrade to PEI National Park that offers a paved, two-way trail that twins the Gulf Shore Parkway, providing cyclists with a smooth surface and a mix of flat stretches and gentle rolling slopes. Wind your way past the iconic red sandstone cliffs of Cavendish, panoramic dunescapes in Brackley, the egmatic Covehead lighthouse and six of PEI National Park’s breathtaking supervised beaches. With so much to see and do on route, you’ll love the trip as much as the destination!
The Confederation Trail runs Tip to tip, and Tip to Tip is our motto. The best way to tour it is by bicycle. The trail was Built on an abandoned railway line. The main trail is 273 kilometres from east to west Elmira to Tignish. Branch trails are serving small towns and communities. The gradients along this rolled stone dust trail never exceed two percent.

Montague is a pretty little riverside town. The Station Cafe is inside the old railway station building. It's right next to the marina and there's plenty of outside seating. The menu is simple and it's classic café food. The service was so friendly. The fish cakes were great, as was the curried tuna wrap with coleslaw ($10!). Support this local business and enjoy the local history and river!
The North Cape Wind Energy Interpretive Centre is an adventure in itself, appealing to adults, children of all ages, tours and school groups. State-of-the-art displays offer countless opportunities for hands-on and visual learning about the importance of wind energy and the means to harness this renewable resource..

As the tourists scramble off the bus, they head straight for the iconic lighthouse, and that's when the captain makes his move, with the help of a walker.Court receives visitors from around the world He shuffles out the front door onto his veranda. He's every inch the image of an old fisherman: A long, white wispy beard, a red plaid shirt, topped off with a black sou'wester (a fisherman's rain hat). Like fish to bait Suddenly, like fish to bait, the tourists wriggle closer to snap photos with Court, and the captain once again has his catch of the day. It's a scene replayed all summer.
Deborah Petersen & JohnStegenga have been 2 of several walkers I’ve been involved with the past month. They are from Ottawa walking the PEI Confederation Trail… which has been a boost to our fall season.
George is the most generous and kind individual I have ever met. He made our trip extremely comfortable and plenty joyful. I will always remember him and his kindness. He showed us all the secret spots and told us so many stories. I think asking him
to take us around was the best decision ever.
We did a five-day bicycle trip around Prince Edward Island. We booked the tour through another company, but George was contracted to move our luggage daily and pick us up on the first and last days. Next time, we will skip booking through the other company and just let George handle everything. He was so responsive; so dependable. He knows everyone on the Island and knows so much about the history and culture - it made our experience so much richer. Wonderful people, a beautiful landscape, and delicious food. Prince Edward Island is a vacation spot for everyone.
George is the consummate professional. My wife and I cycled the Confederation trail and fortunately had contacted George to make the arrangements. Don’t be fooled by his laid back manner and down home approach, his tour that he organized for us was perfect. Excellent accommodation and exactly the right distances each day.
His son Dan drove us from Red Point to Tignish and it was like a tour in itself, lots of interesting history and information. We forgot a jacket at one of our stops and George had Dan pick it up for us and deliver it to our next stop. George certainly understands service.
We have not tried any of the other shuttle services but I would say don’t bother, you can’t do any better than with George and his rates are reasonable and fair.
George was a terrific support to us during our tandem tour of PEI. Three times we needed their shuttle help...three times they responded in a prompt, friendly, and supportive manner! We had the good fortune of having, on separate occasions, George, Daniel, and Gordon. They cared about our experienced and did all they could to enhance it. They gave advice on places to stay that we didn't know existed. We HIGHLY recommend them. our experience with them couldn't have been better.
We love our customers, so feel free to call us anytime.
